Galafura Viewpoint

Galafura Viewpoint, formally the Miradouro de São Leonardo de Galafura, stands on Monte de S. Leonardo, east of the village of Galafura and 566 metres above sea level, in the municipality of Peso da Régua. The view takes in the stretch of the Douro between Régua and Pinhão, with the terraces dropping to the river — one of the widest panoramas in the whole demarcated region. A Roman hillfort once stood on the same hill. Access is by car, on the roads linking the wine villages.
